Seasonal smoothies

Here are some great ideas to help you get the most from delicious British produce when it’s in season.

 

  • Prep time:
    about 5 minutes
  • Serves:
    1

Method

  1. Combine all of the ingredients into a blender and process until smooth.
  2. Serve chilled or over ice.

Ingredients

Spring smoothie

  • 1 frozen banana, thawed
  • 1 tablespoon honey (or rice syrup)
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • generous dollop of yoghurt
  • 300ml milk

 

Summer smoothie

  • Handful each of blackcurrants, raspberries and blueberries
  • 1 skinned and sliced peach (loosen the skin by dipping the peach in boiling water and peel it off)
  • scoop of kiwi & pineapple sorbet
  • splash of apple juice

 

Autumn smoothie

  • 1⁄2 small fennel bulb
  • 2 pears
  • 1 apple
  • bunch of fresh mint 

 

Winter smoothie

  • spoonful of fruit compote
  • 1 frozen banana, thawed
  • spoonful hazelnut butter
  • pinch of cinnamon
  • splosh of milk
  • dollop of yoghurt
